As 2024 comes to a close, we’re celebrating a year of exciting progress at Alkemio! From the launch of Subspaces to the introduction of VirtualContributors™, we’ve made big strides this year. With fresh features, a revamped UI, and even new faces joining the Alkemio team, it’s been a year to remember. So without further ado, let’s dive into the highlights!
Early 2024 - Setting the Stage
Collaboration Tools Search. Finding your work has never been easier! We enhanced search functionality to include collaboration tools like whiteboards, boosting usability and accessibility. Don't remember where you saved that whiteboard you were working on? No problem! Search can now recognize the words inside your boards.
Improved Flow. Innovation flows are now more intuitive to use. With direct customization options for workflows within subspaces, you can easily adapt processes to suit your needs. Add phases, remove steps, rename titles, or simply drag and drop tools into the right columns. It’s all in your control.
Collaboration Tools and Templates. As of early this year, there’s no need to embed our whiteboard templates into your existing tools. Collaboration tool templates now come ready-to-use, straight out of the box. Plus, you can create and save your own templates, so you can duplicate them across different subspaces.
From Challenges to Subspaces. We shifted our focus from Challenges and Opportunities to Subspaces, which is a more versatile and focused concept for organizing teamwork. This shift makes it easier to divide tasks, organize efforts, and align with sub-communities.
Meet Your VirtualContributors™. 2024 marked the debut of VirtualContributors™, redefining how users collaborate with AI. Designed for sharing knowledge and facilitating teamwork, our focus was on making these AI assistants be trustable through transparent interactions. We’ve integrated Mistral AI, a Large Language Model from France, into our VirtualContributors™. We did this to emphasize open and responsible collaboration (plus, it’s really good!).
For added flexibility, you can also integrate external AI services, offering both security and adaptability in how you leverage AI. Start building and sharing AI expertise today in a secure, user-friendly environment!
Interactive Tutorials. We introduced interactive tutorials directly inside our Spaces, making it simple to learn new features or refresh your memory. When creating a Subspace, you can add these tutorials right away, or include them later via the Template library.
Subspace Events Visibility. Responding to a popular request, we added the ability to view events created in Subspaces at the Space level. Along with this upgrade, we enhanced event features to support all-day and multi-day scheduling, keeping your calendar more organized.
New Documentation Page. No more switching between the platform and our website! We’ve migrated our user documentation and FAQs from the website directly into the platform. You can explore concepts, tutorials, and tips! Simply click "Get Help" in the user menu at the top right of the page to access all the resources you need.
Redesigned Dashboard. Last Christmas, we introduced a personal dashboard to track all activity in your Spaces. This year, we refined it further to provide a calmer, more customizable experience. You can toggle between a compact, simpler view or a richer activity view. Choose the layout that works best for you!
Subspace Templates. You can now replicate your Subspace setup across Spaces or within the same Space, the latter being especially useful with multiple teams working on similar projects. Use templates from our Template Library or build your own to quickly launch a new Subspace with preloaded tools and placeholders.
VirtualContributor™ Store. Finding the right AI collaborator is now much easier. We replaced the old selection list with the VirtualContributor™ Store. Browse detailed profiles of AI contributors and choose the perfect match for your projects and communities.
iFrame Embedding. Content became even more interactive! You can now embed external content, such as videos, interactive PDFs, or live documents, directly into posts. Not too many cat videos, please!
